Corey Anderson makes comeback as New Zealand announce squad for Pakistan T20Is

Anderson last represented New Zealand last year in the Champions Trophy in England

New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson finally made a comeback in the national side after a long gap of 16 months for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan. The 27-year-old was out of the action due to back problems as he had to undergo surgery.

Reflecting on his comeback, the Kiwi all-rounder stated that it feels great to be back in the side. At the same time, he also ensured that things are going well with his body and he is able to play without any difficulty.

“It's obviously been a long road back and after the surgery, there were some long tedious days. But this is what the rehab is for and to be picked again is a great feeling,” said Anderson.

Anderson last represented New Zealand last year in the Champions Trophy. He is currently leading the New Zealand A team against Pakistan A in Dubai.

The A team also has wicketkeeper Glenn Phillips who is another notable inclusion in the national side for the series against Pakistan. He was given a chance at the place of Martin Guptill, who was ruled out of the series owing to an injury.
