Virat Kohli was bowled by England pacer Reece Topley in the third over of the Indian innings, sending him back to the pavilion for just 9. During this over, he managed to hit a brilliant six using his wrists, but was dismissed immediately after that.

A heartbroken Virat Kohli, who returned to the pavilion after scoring 9 runs in 9 balls, was seen sitting disappointed in the Indian dugout. Indian head coach Rahul Dravid then approached him and consoled him.

For the first time in his career, Virat Kohli has failed in a T20 World Cup semi-final match. Prior to IND vs ENG semi-final in T20 World Cup 2024, he consistently played exceptional innings in every tournament. This includes a half-century against England in the previous T20 World Cup edition in Australia.
