BCCI Announces Squads For Duleep Trophy 2024 2nd Round, Mayank Agarwal Replaces Shubman Gill As India A Captain

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the updated India A, B and C squads on September 10 (Tuesday) for the second round of India’s domestic cricket tournament Duleep Trophy 2024.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the India A, B and C squads on September 10 (Tuesday) for the second round of India’s domestic cricket tournament Duleep Trophy 2024, slated to start from September 12 in Anantapur. The men's selection committee brought in some changes to the squads for the second round, with senior players set to depart their squads for India's upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh, set to begin on September 19.

Shubman Gill, who captained India A in their opening match of the tournament against India B, along with KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep, will be unavailable for the second round of Duleep Trophy 2024 as they have been named in the India squad for the first IND vs BAN Test, slated to happen in Chennai. Mayank Agarwal has been appointed as the new captain of India A, with Suyash Prabhudessai and Rinku Singh joining the squad as replacements.

New Faces Step In For Shubman Gill, KL Rahul And Dhruv Jurel

Pratham Singh from Railways, Akshay Wadkar from Vidarbha, and Shaik Rasheed from Andhra have been named as replacements for Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Dhruv Jurel, respectively. Mumbai's left-arm orthodox spinner Shams Mulani will step in for Kuldeep Yadav, while Aaqib Khan from UPCA will replace Akash Deep for the second round.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant from India B have been called up to the main Indian squad, with Suyash Prabhudessai and Rinku Singh named as their replacements.

Pacer Yash Dayal has earned his maiden national call-up, while Sarfaraz Khan, also included in India's squad, will feature in the second-round match. Himanshu Mantri from MPCA has also been added to the squad.

With Axar Patel joining Team India from Team D, Nishant Sindhu from Haryana CA will step in as his replacement. Tushar Deshpande, sidelined by a minor injury, will be replaced by Vidwath Kaverappa from India A for the second round.

Updated India B squad: Abhimanyu Easwaran (C), Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, Mukesh Kumar, Rahul Chahar, R Sai Kishore, Mohit Awasthi, N Jagadeesan (WK), Suyash Prabhudessai, Rinku Singh, Himanshu Mantri (WK).

Updated India D squad: Shreyas Iyer (C), Atharva Taide, Yash Dubey, Devdutt Padikkal, Ricky Bhui, Saransh Jain, Arshdeep Singh, Aditya Thakare, Harshit Rana, Akash Sengupta, KS Bharat (WK), Saurabh Kumar, Sanju Samson (WK), Nishant Sindhu, Vidwath Kaverappa.
