Nepal star spinner Sandeep Lamichhane attained a 'mega milestone' on Monday (June 17) despite his team's 21-run defeat to Bangladesh in NEP vs BAN T20 World Cup 2024 match at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent.

Lamichhane ended up with figures of 2 for 17 in BAN vs NEP T20 World Cup 2024 match as Nepal bowled out Bangladesh for 106 in their Group D match. With this, he overall became 16th bowler in the history of T20Is to claim 100 T20 International wickets and the second bowler from an Associate Nation team to pick 100 T20I wickets.

Before Lamichhane, Bilal Khan of Oman is the only bowler from Associate Nations to pick 100 wickets in T20 Internationals.

BAN vs NEP: Bangladesh qualifies for Super 8 with big win over Nepal

Bangladesh emerged victorious against Nepal in a closely contested match, winning by 21 runs in a low-scoring thriller. Bangladesh's win over Nepal guarantees them a spot in ICC T20 World Cup Super-8 stage.

Nepal won the toss and opted to bowl first. Bangladesh, batting first, had a difficult start and was bowled out for 106 runs in 19.3 overs. In reply, Nepal's chase began poorly, managing only 85 runs in 19.2 overs, resulting in a 21-run defeat against Bangladesh.
