Team India's all-format skipper Rohit Sharma completed 10,000 runs in One-Day-Internationals (ODIs) during Ind vs SL Asia Cup 2023 Super Fours match. The senior opener is the sixth Indian cricketer ever to attain this historic milestone. Before Rohit, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli have scored 10,000 runs in 50-overs format. Rohit has so far scored over 10,000 runs in 241 ODI innings at an average of 49 and strike rate of 90 with help of 30 centuries and 50 half-centuries.

Rohit needed to score only 22 runs in today's match against Sri Lanka to achieve this feat. India's last match in the Asia Cup was with Pakistan. In this match, Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 122 runs to become the fastest player to score 13,000 runs in ODIs. Rohit Sharma now too has joined the elite list, reaching 10,000 ODI runs in just 240 innings just behind his teammate Virat Kohli, who achieved this milestone in 205 innings.
Rohit Sharma also holds the record of scoring maximum three double centuries in ODIs. The highest score by a batter in history of ODIs (265 runs) in ODI cricket is also in Rohit's name. The star player made his debut in ODIs in 2013. He is expected to play his career's final ODI World Cup, this year.
