After Ashwin Asks Twitter To Verify Ajaz Patel, Request Pours In For SL Bowler Wanindu Hasaranga

SL journalist makes a request to verify no.1 T20 spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga after Ashwin asks Twitter to verify Ajaz Patel.

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin tweeted a request to verify the Twitter account of Ajaz Patel, the New Zealand (NZ) bowler who picked up 10 wickets in an innings against India in Mumbai Test match. The request was quickly accepted by Twitter and Ajaz Patel's account got a blue tick, signifying that his account has been verified.

A similar request was made for the highest wicket-taker at the ICC T20 World Cup, Wanindu Hasaranga by a Sri Lankan journalist, Azzam Ameen. He tagged Ashwin and asked to make a similar request for the Sri Lankan spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga who is currently the no. 1 T20 bowler in the world.

"This is the official Twitter handle of Wanindu Hasaranga @Wanindu49: Highest Wicket taker of T20 World Cup & No 1 ranked in ICC T20 rankings also deserves to be @verified," Azzam Ameen wrote on Twitter.

Also take a look at Ashwin's tweet that he made for Ajaz Patel of NZ:

Born in Mumbai in 1988, Ajaz single-handedly picked up 10 wickets in the first innings of the second and final Test against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He equaled legendary Indian spinner Anil Kumble and England's Jim Laker record for taking 10 wickets in a Test inning.
