Sharjah Cricket Ground in the UAE, famous for hosting some of cricket's most historic matches, will be the venue for first ODI of the three-match series between Afghanistan and South Africa.

AFG vs SA 1st ODI game is notable as it will be the 250th ODI held at this iconic venue, making Sharjah Cricket Stadium the first ground in the world to reach this milestone.

The first ODI at Sharjah Cricket Ground took place in 1984. That match took place between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on April 6, 1984.

Sharjah is not only the first venue to host 250 ODIs but also the only ground to have hosted over 200 ODIs. The second venue on the list is Harare Sports Club, with 182 ODIs played.

R Premadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka matches this figure, also hosting 151 ODIs.

Although Sharjah has become a popular venue for ODIs, it has hosted only four Test matches and 38 T20Is.
