AB de Villiers hits 19-ball 50 in T20

In a rain-hit match, Titans had a revised target of 135 in 15 overs which they knocked off in just 11.2 overs courtesy some ruthless hitting from captain Albie Morkel (41 off 16) and from AB de Villiers.

New Delhi: It was just another day in the office for AB de Vlliers, just another normal cricket match where he nonchalantly scored a 19-ball half century to lead Titans to a comfortable 8-wicket win over Lions in South Africa’s domestic T20 tournament, the Ram Slam T20 Challenge.

In a rain-hit match, Titans had a revised target of 135 in 15 overs which they knocked off in just 11.2 overs courtesy some ruthless hitting from captain Albie Morkel (41 off 16) and from  AB de Villiers.

The former South Africa captain scored at a rate of 263.15 in his 27-minute stay at the crease, smashing 5 sixes, two of which off Kagison Rabada and 3 boundaries to remain unbeaten on 50.

AB reached fifty by clobbering South Africa’s one of the most potent fast bowlers, Kagiso Rabada for two consecutive sixes.

De Villiers had just returned to limited overs cricket last month after a long break and he immediately left his mark with a swashbuckling 176-run nock against Bangladesh.

For the record, Yuvraj Singh and Chris Gayle jointly hold the record for the fastest T20 fifty, they achieved it in 20 balls. South African's David Miller resgitered the fastest T20I hundred in 36 balls against Bangladesh last month.

De Villiers holds the record for the fastest ODI hundred off just 31 balls.
