A Day After Earning Test Selection, Prasidh Krishna Tests Covid Positive | BCCI Hopeful For Quick Recovery
The BCCI will be hoping for a quick recovery in the case of the England-bound KKR pacer, Prasidh Krishna. He was selected in the stand-by list of players that are bound to leave for England for the upcoming final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand.
Bengaluru: India and KKR pacer, Prasidh Krishna gets infected with Covid-19. He is currently in his hometown, Bengaluru. Earlier, Krishna's Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) teammates, Varu Chakravarthy, Sandeep Warrier, and Tim Seifert had caught the Corona virus.
Prasidh Krishna has been selected for the upcoming World Test Championship squad as a standby player. The same squad will also play a five-match Test series against England. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) must be hoping for a quick recovery of the bowler. "Prasidh is COVID positive and currently in home isolation in Bengaluru," said a BCCI source to PTI.
The source also said that Krishna, just like Warrier and Seifert might have go the virus from Chakravarthy as they both are "close friends". It was also reported that Prasidh Krishna left the bio-bubble on May 3, along with other players with two Covid-19 negative reports however on reaching Bengaluru, he tested positive.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the all-important World Test Championship (WTC) Final and also the subsequent five-match Test series against England. Hardik Pandya, Prithvi Shaw, and Bhvneshwar Kumar were the three important names that were missing from the 20-man "full strength" squad that India announced for the WTC Final. Prasidh Krishna is part of the 'standby players' for the Test series.
