In reaction to the attack, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has launched a series of other tough measures as well. Nadeem, who triumphed over Neeraj Chopra to win the gold medal in the Javelin event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, recently made news by turning down Chopra’s invitation to compete in the NC Classic javelin event in Bengaluru on Saturday, May 24, citing prior commitments, particularly with the upcoming Asian Athletics Championship.

Last year, Nadeem made history at the Paris Olympics by setting a new Olympic record for the longest javelin throw in men’s event history, securing the gold medal. With an impressive throw of 92.97m, he now holds the record for the sixth-longest throw in the history of men's javelin.
