Kartik Purnima 2024: Kartik Purnima is the holiest day in Hinduism, with special significance for bathing, charity, worship, fasting, and lighting lamps. Certain things should be avoided on this day.

Kartik Purnima 2024: The month of Kartik holds great significance in Hinduism and is considered auspicious. Several important fasts and festivals occur during this month, and it is believed that Lord Vishnu awakens from his four-month yoga nidra, marking the beginning of auspicious activities.

The last day of Kartik, known as Kartik Purnima, is also regarded as very sacred and auspicious. This day is celebrated with Dev Deepawali and Guru Nanak Jayanti, making Kartik Purnima significant both religiously and spiritually. This year, Kartik Purnima falls on November 15, 2024.

Do Not Do These Things On Kartik Purnima

  • On Kartik Purnima, if someone comes to your door, do not send them away empty-handed. Additionally, refrain from speaking harsh words to the poor, needy, helpless, and the elderly on this day.
  • Avoid insulting anyone on Kartik Purnima. Doing so angers the deities and brings about negativity.
  • On Kartik Purnima, one should consume sattvic food and also observe Brahmacharya (celibacy).
  • Kartik Purnima is a very auspicious day for giving donations, but one should avoid donating items like silver utensils or milk on this day. Doing so leads to Chandra Dosh (lunar afflictions) and can result in financial problems.
  • Also, keep in mind that no room in the house should be dark on Kartik Purnima. If it is, Goddess Lakshmi will turn back from the doorway.
