The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday agreed to hear a petition against former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan over alleged concealment of his purported daughter. The plea alleged that Khan failed to mention the existence of this child, ‘Tyrian White’, in his nomination papers. 

The planned spacewalk by Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin on December 14 (according to Eastern Standard Time) was cancelled due to the leak of a coolant leak from the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft docked to the Rassvet module on the International Space Station (ISS). Mission Control teams in Moscow are assessing the coolant leak from the aft end of the spacecraft, NASA says on its website. 

In the ongoing Winter Session of the Parliament, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju told the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that the issue of appointments in higher judiciary would continue to linger till a new system is set up and that the government currently has limited powers to fill the vacancies. 

Nirav Modi, the fugitive diamond dealer sought in India on fraud and money laundering accusations, suffered another defeat in his legal struggle against extradition on Thursday when the High Court in London granted him permission to appeal to the UK Supreme Court. Lord Justice Jeremy Stuart-Smith and Justice Robert Jay declared that "the Appellant's (Nirav Modi) plea for leave to appeal to the Supreme Court is declined" in a judgement order issued at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

The Delhi Police found a new breakthrough in the Shraddha Walkar murder case as the bone samples found from Mehrauli jungle matched with her father's DNA, confirmed the Police on Thursday, reported news agency PTI. Shraddha Walkar's live-in partner, Aftab Amin Poonawala had killed her in May this year and cut her corpse into 35 pieces which he stacked in a refrigerator and would disposed them in Mehrauli jungle during midnight.

The Supreme Court on Thursday granted bail to a convict serving life imprisonment in the 2002 Godhra train coach burning case, noting that he has been in jail for the last 17 years. The man identified as Faruk was convicted of pelting stones to prevent people from coming out of the burning compartment of the Sabarmati Express on February 27, 2002.

Three-time Wimbledon champion Boris Becker was released from a UK prison on Thursday and will be deported to Germany. The six-time Grand Slam champion was found guilty of flouting insolvency rules by concealing more than £2.5 million in cash, shares and property to avoid paying debt. Becker, who went on trial earlier this year and was found guilty of four charges under the Insolvency Act, was slapped with a sentence of two and a half years.
