The bigger highlight here is the new Z-series 3 cylinder petrol engine which would be more powerful than the current Swift along with better efficiency. Expect the Z Series petrol engine to deliver around 100 bhp and that is a lot more plus the mileage would be in the region of 24-25 kmpl which would make it one of the most fuel efficient hatchbacks that you can get. The other change is the interior which is all new and is similar to the Baleno or the Fronx. Abroad, the new Swift gets an electric parking brake while there is also a new 9-inch touchscreen. (Source: Somnath Chatterjee)

We are not sure about the electric parking brake coming here but it could get features like a 360 degree camera, connected car technology, LED headlamps and more. In India we will not get the hybrid Swift for cost reasons but a pure petrol engined model but the enhanced fuel efficiency would certainly be a big draw for this new Swift which comes in early next year. Expect the new Swift to be marginally more expensive than the current one but the changes would be well worth it. (Source: Somnath Chatterjee)
