Who Is Harjeet Singh Laddi, Khalistani Terrorist Behind Attack On Kapil Sharma’s Kap's Cafe

Harjeet Singh Laddi is a member of the banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International. According to security agencies, he currently resides in Germany.

Harjeet Singh Laddi, a known Khalistani terrorist, is responsible for the firing incident at Kapil Sharma’s cafe, Kap's Cafe, located in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Laddi, who opened fire indiscriminately at the cafe, is one of India's most wanted terrorists. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs.10 lakh for information leading to his arrest.

Where Does Harjeet Singh Laddi Live?

Harjeet Singh Laddi is a member of the banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International. According to security agencies, he currently resides in Germany.

Prior to the attack on Kapil Sharma’s cafe, his name had also surfaced in connection with the murder of Vikas Prabhakar, alias Vikas Bagga, a leader of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP). The NIA investigated the case and revealed in its chargesheet that the murder was orchestrated by Wadhwa Singh Babbar, the Pakistan-based chief of Babbar Khalsa, along with Harjeet Singh, alias Laddi, based in Germany. The killing took place on April 13, 2024, in the Nangal area of Rupnagar district, Punjab.

Anger Over Kapil Sharma’s Old Statement?

Now, the same Harjeet Singh has claimed responsibility for the shooting at Kap's Cafe. A video of the attack has gone viral on social media, showing a man sitting inside a car firing bullets at the cafe. While the exact motive behind the attack is still unclear, preliminary reports suggest that Laddi was allegedly upset over an old statement made by Kapil Sharma, which may have triggered the shooting spree. The police are currently investigating the entire matter. If this attack is indeed linked to Babbar Khalsa International, it raises serious concerns not just for Kapil Sharma, but also for India's national security.

A Potential Threat to India

Babbar Khalsa International is the same Khalistani terror outfit responsible for the June 23, 1985, bombing of Air India Flight Kanishka off the coast of Ireland, which killed 329 people. It was also behind the assassination of Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh in a suicide bombing. If Babbar Khalsa is indeed regaining influence and visibility, it could signal renewed trouble for India and global security agencies.
