Israel has released new footage showing Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar moving to a tunnel in Gaza with his family, hours before the October 7 attack last year that triggered the ongoing war. Sinwar was killed in an Israeli strike in the southern Gaza city of Rafah on Wednesday.
The CCTV footage released by Israeli army spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari showed Sinwar and his wife and children moving belongings, including a television, water, pillows and mattresses. As per Hagari, the tunnel where Sinwar's family moved was located under the family home in Khan Younis.

The documentation was found a few months ago by the IDF and Shin Bet (ISA), according to a report by The Jerusalem Post. As per the report, the Israeli troops also located Sinwar's DNA in a tunnel in the Tel Sultan area, and other photos showing the tunnels in which Sinwar stayed.
Sinwar's Death
The Hamas leader was killed by the IDF in Tel Sultan in Rafah on Wednesday in an unplanned operation. IDF said that its troops suspected there were Hamas terrorists in the building area which they eventually fired on. Afterwards, Sinwar’s body was inside in the debris.
Sinwar's Killing, a mastermind of the attack that ignited the war in the Gaza Strip, marked a major triumph for Israel.
Netanyahu said in a statement on Thursday that Sinwar’s death "settled the score", but he warned that the Gaza war would continue with full force until Israel's hostages were returned.
Israeli military spokesman Hagari also called Sinwar's elimination a "great achievement" in efforts to destroy Hamas' military apparatus but added there were other commanders in Gaza.
