PM Modi Departs For UAE After Successful Two-Day France Trip

PM Modi has departed for UAE after a two-day visit to France where he held wide-ranging discussions with President Macron to strengthen the partnership between both countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for the UAE on Saturday after culminating his two-day visit to France where he held numerous discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron on wide-ranging topics and was awarded France's highest civilian and military honour, the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour. After PM Modi touches down in Abu Dhabi for a day-long visit, he is expected to call upon Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The two strategic partner nations will be holding discussions on Energy, Food Security and Defence among other things, reported news agency PTI. This meeting comes more than a year after both countries signed the landmark trade agreement.

Modi's visit to Abu Dhabi will mark the completion of the triad after a substantive engagement with the leadership of France, as reported by PTI.

After the completion of the first stage of this triad, viz. France visit, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted, “PM @narendramodi bids adieu to France following a successful visit that heralded a new chapter in India-France relationship. PM now emplanes for Abu Dhabi for the next leg of his visit.”

As per PTI, both India and France on Friday said that they were exploring possibilities for the co-development and co-production of key military platforms, including for the benefit of those nations that maintain friendly relations with them. A 25-year roadmap was unveiled which is expected to deepen their strategic partnership.
