Modi In France: Bastille Day Parade, Delegation Talks, CEO Forum — A Look At PM's Day 2 Itinerary
A ceremonial welcome and Guard of honour were accorded to Prime Minister Modi upon his arrival at the airport on Thursday.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to France as he has been invited as the Guest of Honour at the Bastille Day Parade at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron. French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne received Prime Minister Modi at the airport. A ceremonial welcome and Guard of honour were accorded to Prime Minister Modi upon his arrival at the airport.
He then met French Senate President Gerard Larcher as he began his bilateral engagements to boost India's strategic ties with France.
He later held delegation-level talks with Borne, where the leaders reviewed various facets of the India-France partnership as well as discussed measures to further strengthen the ties between both countries.
Later in the evening, he addressed an Indian Community event at the iconic La Seine Musicale and thereafter, the PM arrived at Elysee Palace for a private dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Ahead of his departure, PM Modi expressed confidence that his visit will provide a new impetus to the bilateral strategic partnership.
"Rooted in deep trust and commitment, our two countries cooperate closely across various domains including defence, space, civil nuclear, blue economy, trade, investment, education, culture and people-to-people ties. We also work together on regional and global issues," the statement read.
