Pakistan: Fire Erupts In Army Ammunition Shed In Sialkot, No Loss Of Life Reported

New Delhi: A massive explosion occurred in the northern city of Sialkot in Pakistan, as per local media reports on Sunday.

The sound of the blast was reportedly heard near the cantonment area in the Punjab province, news agency ANI cited local media as stating.

According to Samaa TV, fire erupted in an army ammunition shed in the Sialkot garrison area. The military's media wing Inter-services Public Relations (IRC) confirmed the incident, as per the report.

 IRC stated that the fire was caused by a short circuit. It has been put out as a result of "swift and effective response", it informed as quoted by SAMAA TV.

No loss of life or property loss was reported, it added.

Several purported visuals surfaced on social media with local Twitter users reporting hearing loud blasts in the Sialkot area.

ABP News cannot verify the authenticity of the visuals shared.

Meanwhile, according to local media, Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Umer Saeed Malik also said that the fire erupted early morning in the cantonment area after which several blasts happened.
