Telangana Student In Chicago Missing Since May 2, Family Says Last Contact Was On WhatsApp
The Chicago police and the Indian Consulate are trying to locate Rupesh who has been missing since May 2.
Adding to the string of troubling cases regarding the safety and security of Indian students in the United States, another 26-year-old Indian student named Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi from Hyderabad has been reported missing in Chicago since May 2, India's mission in the US city stated on Thursday.
Following the news of his missing, the Consulate General of India in Chicago stated that it was in touch with the police and Indian diaspora to reestablish contact with him.
"The Consulate is deeply concerned that Indian student Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi has been incommunicado since 2nd May. The consulate is in touch with the police and the Indian diaspora hoping to locate/reestablish contact with Rupesh," the Indian Consulate in Chicago posted on X, tagging Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Embassy in US.

Rupesh Chandra has been missing from the 4300 block of N. Sheridan Rd, the Chicago Police stated in a statement. The police also urged people to provide any information they have that might help them to locate Rupesh, news agency PTI stated.
He had gone to the US to pursue a masters degree in Chicago from Concordia University, Wisconsin, Times of India reported.
Ever since he has been missing his family back in Hyderabad are worried and are trying to do everything possible to locate their child.
Rupesh had last spoken to his father on May 2 after which he went missing.
“He said he was doing some work. Later on, I could not contact him, and he is offline since then", TOI quoted his father as saying.
Rupesh's Brother Requests MEA Jaishankar To Find Him
An X user named Kanukuntla PremKumar, who claims to be Rupesh's brother shared a post requesting External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Chicago Mayor to look for his missing brother.

In April, a 25-year-old Indian student named Mohammad Abdul Arfath, hailing from Nacharam, Hyderabad, was missing since March and was found dead in the Cleveland, US.
In March, Amarnath Ghosh, a 34-year-old trained classical dancer from India, was shot dead in St Louis, Missouri.
