Hamas Releases Video Showing 3 Women Hostages, Israel PM Calls It 'Cruel Propaganda'

Soon after the video was released, Netanyahu denounced it as "cruel psychological propaganda," AFP reported.

New Delhi: Hamas on Monday released a video allegedly showing three women captured during its deadly October 7 attack in Israel.

Sitting on plastic chairs against a white tile wall, one of the women urges Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to agree to a prisoner exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, reported news agency AFP.

Speaking in Hebrew, she becomes very agitated and starts shouting, almost screaming by the end, as the other two sitting on either side of her remain silent.

Palestinian journalist Younis Tirawi shared the Hamas video, and captioned it, "Hamas military wing publish a recording from Israeli hostages in Gaza, which they claim is addressed to Netanyahu and the Israeli government."

Soon after the video was released, Netanyahu denounced it as "cruel psychological propaganda," AFP reported.

"This is cruel psychological propaganda by Hamas-ISIS," Netanyahu said in comments released by his office, likening the Gaza militants to the Islamic State group.

Israel says at least 239 people were kidnapped in the raids launched on October 7 and 1,400 were killed. Hamas says more than 8,300 people have been killed in Israel's retaliatory strikes on the Gaza Strip since, according to AFP.

Netanyahu named the three women as Yelena Trupanob, Daniel Aloni and Rimon Kirsht, and vowed "to bring all the abducted and missing people home".

Authorities believe that the hostages are being held in a giant network of underground tunnels built by Hamas in the besieged territory.

Facing growing domestic pressure over the detainees, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on Sunday accused the militants of playing "psychological games" over the hostages' fate.

On October 16, Hamas released a video showing Israeli-French hostage Mia Shem.
