Haiti President Jovenel Moise Assassinated At His Home, PM Announces 'Leadership Takeover'

Port-au-Prince: Haitian President Jovenel Moise was on Wednesday assassinated at his home by a commando, interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph announced. Prime Minister Joseph further said that he was now in charge of the country.

“Haitian President Jovenel Moise was assassinated Wednesday at his home by a commando,” AFP News Agency posted on Twitter.

Author and journalist Michael Deibert too confirmed the same.

“The president of Haiti, @moisejovenel, has been assassinated by a team of commandos who attacked his home in the hills above Port-au-Prince. Pray for #Haiti and its people,” he tweeted.
