French Daredevil, Known For Skyscraper Stunts, Dies After Falling From 68th Floor

The 30-year-old French daredevil, Remi Lucidi, fell from the 68th floor of the Tregunter Tower complex after reportedly getting trapped outside a penthouse, according to the media report.

New Delhi: A renowned French photographer, known for scaling huge skyscrapers and capturing breathtaking pictures from the top, died last Thursday after falling from a high-rise residential block in Hong Kong, South China Morning Post reported.

The 30-year-old French daredevil, Remi Lucidi, fell from the 68th floor of the Tregunter Tower complex after reportedly getting trapped outside a penthouse, according to the media report.

Lucidi is believed to have gotten trapped outside the penthouse and frantically started knocking on a window, startling a maid inside, who then called the police for help. As per the report, Lucidi fell off the building on Tregunter Path before officers arrived and was confirmed dead at the scene.

Police found Lucidi’s sports camera at the scene, which contained videos of extreme sports.

As per Hong Kong officials, Lucidi arrived at the building at around 6 pm and told the security guard at the gate that he was visiting a friend on the 40th floor, according to South China Morning Post.

The media outlet reported that the security gate tried to stop him after the alleged friend confirmed he was not acquainted with Lucidi, but by then he was already in an elevator.

Security camera footage showed Lucidi getting out of the lift on the 49th floor before taking the stairs to the very top on level 68.

Security guards also found the lock to the top floor had been forced open, but failed to locate him. Lucidi was later found dead on the ground level, said the report.

The stuntman was staying at a hostel in Tsim Sha Tsui. Hostel owner, Gurjit Kaur, told The Post that he was “healthy and fit and happy faced”.

“I feel very sad,” she added.

Shortly before his death, Lucidi posted a photograph of the Hong Kong skyline on his Instagram profile.

According to his social media page, Lucidi attempted stunts in countries across the globe, such as Bulgaria, Poland, Portugal, France, Austria, and Dubai.
