Who Will Benefit From Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train? Run It From Mumbai To Nagpur: Thackeray To Centre
On Saturday, Thackeray flagged off two metro lines, Metro 2A and Metro 7 in Mumbai on the occasion of Gudi Padwa
New Delhi: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray took jibe at the Centre on Saturday and asked who will benefit from the bullet train which will run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, adding that “run it from Mumbai to Nagpur” reported news agency ANI.
“I am ready to give credit to those who are asking for Metro's credit. But like the metro, there's the bullet train project. They need a place in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex. What will be the benefit of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train?” said the Chief Minister.
“If you want to take credit, then take it by doing some work. The work they started was carried forward by us. We didn't stop. If the bullet train is to be run, then instead of from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, first run it from Mumbai to Nagpur,” he added.
He took a dig at the Centre and said that some people have got a new disease after Covid “for which there is no cure” and added that they do not care for the environment and cut trees.
“After COVID, some people got a new disease for which there's no cure; first they don't do any work & when we do, they blame us for corruption. They claim that they did work, but Mumbaikars have seen how they didn't care for the environment, cut trees,” Thackeray said.
