WATCH | Nitish Kumar Attacked In Bakhtiyarpur; Accused Man Arrested By Cops

The CM did not suffer any injury and the cops had immediately taken the accused man in custody for interrogation. The accused person is said to be mentally unsound, reported ABP News. 

New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was attacked by a man on Sunday in his home district of Bakhtiyarpur. The Chief Minister had gone to Bakhtiyarpur to attend a private function when a man came near him and slapped him. 

The CM did not suffer any injury and the cops had immediately taken the accused man in custody for interrogation. The accused person is said to be mentally unsound, reported ABP News. 

In a video shared on social media, Nitish Kumar could be seen garlanding a statue when a man approached him from behind from the crowd and slapped him. CM’s security personnel immediately reacted to the situation and took the man under their control.

Nitish Kumar had recently visited Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow to attend Yogi Adityanath’s swearing in ceremony for a second term of Chief Minister of the state.

This is not the first time when Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has been targeted. During the 2020 Bihar Assembly election when the CM was addressing a poll campaign in Bihar’s Madhubani district, a person from the audience had attacked CM Nitish with onion and bricks. CM’s bodyguard present on the stage had protected the CM back then.
