Video: 2017 Porsche Panamera Turbo sets a new record at Nurburgring
New Delhi: The recently unveiled 2017 Panamera has managed to add another feather to Porsche’s cap. Known for its fast sports cars, Porsche in a record time, has managed to scale Nurburgring with a car from its stable that is not entirely known for its sports dynamics. Its four door sedan Panamera Turbo managed to clock a record lap time of 7:38 seconds around the track. That’s the fastest time recorded for any production sedan around the famous motorsport complex. Don’t believe it? Watch the video here…
The previous record was set by the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV that had clocked a time of 7:39 seconds for a lap. The Panamera Turbo comes to life using a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine that belts out 550PS of peak power and a monstrous torque of 770Nm. The power delivery is evenly sent to all the four wheels and the car is mated to an eight-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission.
The car can sprint to the 100kmph mark from halt in a claimed time of 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 306kmph. Porsche has stated that the time can come down to 3.6 seconds, provided one opts for the Sports Chrono package. The Panamera Turbo has attained this milestone by outperforming some of the best all-time supercars – the Ferrari F430 Scuderia and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.
