Bus Returning From Kedarnath Turns Turtle, 31 Pilgrims Injured
The remaining passengers who got away with minor wounds were given first aid treatment on the spot and sent to Haridwar in another bus.
New Delhi: A bus carrying passengers overturned near Kaudiyala under Devprayag, injuring all 31 on board, said a State Disaster Response Force official on Monday. The bus was carrying 31 passengers including two children going from Kedarnath to Haridwar and all the passengers are residents of Maharashtra, said K Sajwan, an SDRF official. The bus was returning back from Kedarnath when it met with the accident close to Vyas Gufa Kaudiyala, the district disaster management office, informed.
Eighteen of them supported sustained serious injuries and were hurried to the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in Rishikesh for treatment.
The remaining 13 passengers who got away with minor wounds were given first aid treatment on the spot and sent to Haridwar in another bus, SDM DS Negi said.

Earlier today, a similar incident took place in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district after a bus carrying passengers has fallen into a river. 13 passengers lost their lives in the accident. The bus coming from Maharashtra to Indore fell into the river from the bridge at Khalghat in the district. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra has said that there were around 13-14 people on the bus and none of them survived.
The bus, which belongs to Maharashtra State Transport, was going from Indore to Pune. 13 bodies have been recovered, including some women. In Khalghat of Dhamnod, the bus fell into the Narmada while breaking the railing of the two-lane bridge. This bridge is said to be old.
