Amit Shah To Address Mega Rally In Bihar's Lakhisarai Today, Days After Opposition Meeting

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to address a mega rally in Bihar's Lakhisarai on Thursday. The Home Minister will visit Bihar for the first time after the opposition meeting on June 23, hosted by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna. The Union Minister will be arriving at the Patna airport in the afternoon where he will be received by senior BJP leaders, including the saffron party's state president Samrat Choudhary, and other union ministers from Bihar, reported news agency PTI.
Bihar BJP chief Choudhary while talking to PTI said, “From the airport, the Home Minister will take a helicopter for Lakhisarai in the Munger Lok Sabha constituency. He will offer prayers at Ashok Dham, a famous shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, before addressing a public meeting there." He added, "All people of the state, particularly those in Munger Lok Sabha constituency under which Lakhisarai falls, are welcome to attend Shah's public meeting where he will expound on the progress made by the country under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership."

Security in Munger has been beefed up ahead of Amit Shah's visit. Drones are being used for aerial survelliance, said a police official.
Following the visit, the Union Home Minister will leave for New Delhi in the evening.
The Union Minister's last visit to the state of Bihar took place around three months back.
The Munger Lok Sabha constituency is currently held by Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias 'Lalan', the national president of Nitish Kumar's JD(U), which dumped the BJP last year.
