We list the best scooters you can buy with LED headlamp technology

It’s a known fact that most car tech trickles down to motorcycles and eventually scooters. We have scooters like the TVS NTorq that gets a fully digital instrument console (the Ather S450 gets a colour TFT console), and the Hero Maestro Edge that gets an external fuel filler cap. In similar fashion, we now have quite a few scooters that have LED headlamps. An LED headlamp offers far superior illumination compared to conventional headlamps. At the same time, it uses less energy and is more reliable. Here are five scooters with LED headlamps that you can buy. As you might notice, there are three Honda scooters in this list. That’s due to Honda updating almost all of its scooters and bikes with LED headlamps for 2019.

Honda Activa 5G:

Honda Grazia:

TVS Jupiter Grande:

Rs 59,648 (ex-showroom Delhi)

While the 110cc TVS Jupiter still comes with conventional headlamps, for Rs 1,700 more, you can opt for the Jupiter Grande edition that, among other features, gets an LED headlamp. While we are yet to test the new scooter, the addition of a new LED headlamp is expected to give better illumination than the halogen setup which was the brightest in its segment. Suzuki Burgman Street:

Rs 68,345 (ex-showroom Delhi)

Honda Dio:

Rs 54,137 (ex-showroom Delhi)

 

The Dio is the third product in Honda’s scooter lineup to get LED headlamps. The 110cc scooter gets DRLs mounted on the top cowl, while the main headlamp sits on the front apron. This scooter has been a favourite among the young crowd and thanks to its refreshed looks, manages to stay relevant among the latest crop of scooters.
