Caught On Camera: TikTok Star-Turned-BJP Leader Sonali Phogat Thrashes Official With Her Sandal In Haryana

Sonali Phogat visited to the Balsamand grain market, 25 km from the district headquarters, where she got into an argument with the Secretary of the Market Committee.

Phogat lost her cool and started beating the official black-blue with her slippers.

New Delhi: Leading TikTok sensation and Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sonali Phogat publicly thrashed up a Market Committee Official in Hisar on Friday. Several videos of the incident are making rounds on social media showing Phogat slapping the individual identified as Sultan Singh. BJP leader then took out her footwear and began hitting the man with it. According to the reports, Sonali Phogat visited to the Balsamand grain market, 25 km from the district headquarters, where she got into an argument with the Secretary of the Market Committee. The scuffle between the two escalated to the extent that Phogat lost her cool and started beating the official black-blue with her slippers. As per the reports, Sonali Phogat has claimed that the secretary of the market committee misbehaved with her and that is why she hit him. After thrashing him, she was heard asking the police to register a complaint against him. The viral video was also shared by senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala who has demanded action against Phogat. While sharing the video on Twitter, party's national spokesperson said, "These are the kind of acts done by a BJP leader. Is it a crime to do a government job? Will Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar take action against Phogat? Will the media still remain silent?" The video went viral soon after it was shared on social media. So far on Twitter, more than 3,500 tweets have attracted BJP leader's name making #SonaliPhogat on the top trending topics on the micro-blogging site. Check how Twitter reacted to the incident:

Upon acknowledging the incident, Hisar Deputy Commissioner Joginder Sharma assured strict action in the matter. "We have received complaints from both BJP leader Sonali Phogat and mandi secretary Sultan Singh. We are verifying the facts. Strict action will be taken. Sonali Phogat has alleged that the official made derogatory remarks against her and tried to assault her." Sonali Phogat had contested from Adampur Mandi seat in the last Assembly elections in Haryana, where she had lost against Kuldeep Bishnoi, son of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.
