'Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Naseeruddin Shah Sleeper Cells Of Tukde Tukde Gang': BJP Minister Narottam Mishra

Narottam's latest came after actress Shabana Azmi has expressed her displeasure over the release of the convicts of the Bilkis Bano gang rape.

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra on Saturday said that Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar and Naseeruddin Shah are the agents of the sleeper cell of the 'Tukde-Tukde' gang. “People like Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah are the sleeper cells of ‘tukde-tukde’ gang who create ruckus only on incidents that happened in BJP-ruled states, while keeping silent on what is happening in Congress ruled states like Rajasthan and Jharkhand. Now these people have been exposed,” he said during a press conference.

Narottam's latest came after actress Shabana Azmi expressed her displeasure over the release of the convicts of the Bilkis Bano gang rape.

BJP leader taunted that Kanhaiya Lal was murdered in Rajasthan, but not a word came out of her mouth. When a girl was burnt alive in Dumka, Jharkhand, these people were silent.

"Now, if something happens in a BJP-ruled state, Naseeruddin Shah will say he is scared of living in the country, and the Award-wapasi gang will raise a hue and cry," he said.

In an interview with the media, Shabana Azmi condemned the release of the convicts of the Bilkis Bano case. She said that the situation is very dire.

While speaking to NDTV, Shabana said that she expected an outrage after the convicts were released but was surprised.  “I have no words (for Bilkis Bano) except that I am deeply ashamed. I have no other words. This woman has had such a huge tragedy. And yet she didn't lose courage. She fought all the way. She got these people convicted and, like her husband says, just when she's about to bring her life together, this great travesty of justice happens...Shouldn't we be shouting from the rooftops so that justice is done to this person? And the women who are feeling unsafe in this country, women who face the threat of rape every day – shouldn't they get some sense of security. What do I answer my children, my grandchildren? What can I say to Bilkis? I am ashamed,” the actress told NDTV.

The 11 convicts walked out of jail on August 15 after the Gujarat government allowed their release under its remission policy.
