Republic Day Metro Updates: CS, Udyog Bhawan Stations To Remain Closed Till 12 PM On Saturday - Check Details

Gate no. 3, 4 and 5 of Central Secretariat and gate no. 1 and 2 of Udyog Bhawan will remain closed up to 12:00 PM on 23rd January 2021. However, the interchange facility will be available at Central Secretariat.

In light of the Republic Day Parade dress rehearsal, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday announced that the gates of Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan metro stations will remain closed till 12 noon on Saturday. Gate no. 3, 4 and 5 of Central Secretariat and gate no. 1 and 2 of Udyog Bhawan will remain closed up to 12:00 PM on 23rd January 2021. However, the interchange facility will be available at Central Secretariat, the DMRC said in Tweet.

The DMRC in a following tweet informed that to allow for an easy commute during the Republic Day Parade dress rehearsal, gate no. 1 shall be used for entry and gate no. 2 for exit at Central Secretariat and gate no. 3 shall be used for entry/exit at Udyog Bhawan until 12:00 PM on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic police has stepped up security and intensified patrolling and verification drives across the national capital. Delhi Traffic Police released an advisory to inform about the restrictions and suggested routes for January 23. The document lists recommended routes, bus terminating points, restricted areas for taxis, and more. 

While there is no restriction on light vehicles, the movement of heavy carriers will remain prohibited through the alternative New Ashok Nagar and Kondli routes also.
