President Ram Nath Kovind Shifted To AIIMS, To Undergo Bypass Procedure On March 30

President Ram Nath Kovind's health is stable and he is under the care of the experts at the AIIMS.  After examination into his health condition, doctors have advised him to undergo a planned bypass procedure which is expected to be performed on march 30.

President of India, Ram Nath Kovind has been shifted from the Army's Research and Referral Hospital to AIIMS Hospital in the national capital on Saturday after he complained of chest discomfort on Friday morning. After examination into his health condition, the 75-year-old Kovind has been advised to undergo bypass procedure at AIIMS on Tuesday, March 30. 

President’s Secretariat, as quoted by news agency ANI said, "President Ram Nath Kovind has been shifted to AIIMS, Delhi, today afternoon. Post investigations, doctors have advised him to undergo a planned bypass procedure which is expected to be performed on the morning of March 30."

As per the official statement, the President's health is stable and he is under the care of the experts at the AIIMS. 

The office of President of India in a Tweet said "The President is being supervised by doctors after regular medical checkups. The President has expressed his thanks to all the well-wishers who have come to know about his health."

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Bangladesh, spoke to President Kovind's son and enquired about the President’s health. The office of Prime Minister of India in a tweet said, "PM @narendramodi spoke to Rashtrapati Ji's son. He enquired about the President's health and prayed for his well-being."

Earlier today, President Kovind greeted citizens on the eve of Holi and said may the festival further strengthen the spirit of nationalism. As per the statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President said that Holi, the festival of colours, is also a major festival of the spring season. It is a festival of social harmony which celebrates joy, delight and hope in the lives of people. It gives us message of social integration and fraternity.
