PM Modi Condoles Deaths Of 22 People In Nashik Oxygen Leak Incident
Media reports have claimed that there are 700 patients admitted to the hospital, of which, several are in critical condition. Doctors are making efforts to save lives.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences on the loss of lives in the oxygen tanker leak incident. An oxygen tanker leaked while tankers were being filled at Dr Zakir Hussain Hospital In Maharashtra's Nashik district on Wednesday. As per reports, at least 22 people were killed. Upon acknowledging the incident, several fire engines were rushed to the spot.
"The tragedy at a hospital in Nashik because of oxygen tank leakage is heart-wrenching. Anguished by the loss of lives due to it. Condolences to the bereaved families in this sad hour," PM Modi tweeted.
News agency ANI has quoted Maharashtra Health Minister as saying, "Due to the walls leakage of the tanker in Nashik, there was massive Oxygen leakage. There must definitely have been an impact on the hospital it was going to but I'm yet to gather more information. We'll issue a press note after gathering more information."
FDA Minister Dr Rajendra Shingane said: "We've ordered an enquiry as well. Those who are responsible will not be spared."

In the last 24 hours, 58,924 new COVID-19 were reported in Maharashtra, as per the state Health Ministry. As many as 52,412 people have recovered s far and 351 patients have died. The total tally reached 38,98,262 while death toll reached 60,824.
