Paint On Pants? No, It's Gold. Smugglers Get Creative To Sneak Gold Into Kerala

Chennai: The Air Intelligence Unit seized 302 grams of gold from passengers who attempted to smuggle the valuable metal in an innovative way. The Customs Department working with the Air Intelligence Unit seized gold in the form of a paste in between the layers of pants at Kannur Airport in Kerala.
According to ANI, "Air Intelligence Unit at Kannur airport has seized 302 grams of gold in the form of a very thin paste, concealed within the double-layered pants worn by a passenger, said Customs Preventive Unit, Kochi in Kerala."

The way the gold was smuggled by the accused has made people turn their heads. As soon as the image was shared, Twitter users also tried to find out the way customs officials cracked the case.

Even earlier, passengers tried to smuggle 99 gm of gold as buttons of jeans. Another passenger in Calicut was caught while trying to smuggle gold into a laptop by placing thin sheets inside it. However, the gold was caught as the laptop was put under the scanner.
