Another Lockdown In Gujarat? CM Vijay Rupani Quashes Rumours, Says 'No Such Plans'
The Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani has dismissed rumours and announced that the government has no plans for another lockdown in the state.
New Delhi: The Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani has announced that the government has no plans to impose another lockdown in the state. India is currently in the process of lifting the lockdown and is the first phase or Unlock 1. Despite being the fourth most affected state in India with a total of 23544 cases, the government has allowed the ease of activities as stipulated by the central government for lifting the lockdown in phases. "Following the unlock from June 1, daily life is gradually becoming normal. Business and trade-related activities have also picked up in the state. In such a scenario, the state government does not have any plans to impose the lockdown again," Rupani said in a statement in a report by PTI
There is news about an extension of lockdown after June 15 circulating in social media. The government cleared out the rumour saying that there were no such plans. The post which went viral across social media also claimed that air and train services will be suspended but this too was declared as false.
The worst-hit states Delhi, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu have also announced that there will be no further lockdown in the states.
Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackrey said in a report by Times of India, “News such as these create confusion in society, forwarding and posting these kinds of false reports on social media is a crime.”
Data from the Ministry of health and family affairs show that at present, the total number of cases in India has reached 332424 with 153106 active cases and 9520 fatalities. Globally India has become the fourth most affected by a coronavirus and stands Russia which has 5,28,267 cases.
