New Maruti Ertiga 2018 Official Videos Reveal Climate Control, Cooled Cup Holders & More Features

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the 2018 Maruti Ertiga in India on November 21 and pre-launch bookings are already underway. However, just a few days ahead of the launch, the Indian carmaker has revealed the interior of the upcoming MPV and it looks quite similar to the Indonesia-spec model that was showcased earlier this year. So, without further ado, let’s see what the India-spec Ertiga packs and whether it has more to offer than the Indonesia-spec model.

India-spec 2018 Ertiga

The cabin layout of the India-spec Ertiga looks similar to that of the Indonesia-spec model. It gets the connected-looking AC vents on the dashboard, an infotainment screen and a flat-bottom steering with wooden inserts and controls. It also features a faux wood trim which divides the dashboard into two halves. However, the colour of the wood trim used in the India-spec model appears to be lighter than the one used on the Indonesia-spec Ertiga.

The differences between the two Ertigas (India-spec and Indonesia-spec) are visible on the features front as well. The India-spec Ertiga is better equipped. Unlike the Indonesia-spec Ertiga, it gets auto climate control and Maruti’s SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The instrument cluster also looks different as it gets ‘Smart Hybrid’ detailing which is not seen in the Indonesia-spec model. The India-spec Ertiga will get SHVS mild-hybrid tech with both the petrol and diesel engines.

Other features offered on the India-spec 2018 Ertiga include adjustable headrest for second and third-row seats, ventilated front cup holders (also available in Indonesia-spec model) and reclining third-row seats with dedicated cupholders and a 12V charging socket.

Maruti will launch the new Ertiga with both petrol and diesel engine options, just like its predecessor. However, it will get the new  1.5-litre petrol engine which was introduced in the Ciaz facelift, instead of the 1.4-litre unit. The 1.3-litre diesel engine with SHVS will be carried forward as such. It will be available in four variants: L, V, Z and Z+. The second-gen Ertiga is likely to be priced at a slight premium over the outgoing model. The current model is priced from Rs 6.34 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
