Mumbai: Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar on Sunday night dismisses rumours and incorrect media reports about her death, saying she is “stable, and very much alive”.
Pednekar was hospitalised on Sunday after complaining of chest pain from Saturday night. As per the the mayor's office, Pednekar had chest pain since last night and had gone for a check-up, following which she was hospitalised.

Kishori Pednekar has recovered from Covid last year and was admitted to the Seven Hills Hospital in Andheri.
The Global Hospital said the mayor is suffering from epigastric pain. "Honourable mayor is presently stable and she is under the care of Dr Praveen Kulkarni, senior cardiologist at Global Hospitals, Parel," said Dr Jigna Shrotriya, medical superintendent at the hospital. The statement also put to rest rumours around her death from the mayor’s office saying her condition was stable.
The mayor also responded to false news reports around her wellbeing from the hospital and said she had dal-khichdi some time back.
“I am very much alive and taking treatment at the Global Hospital. Also FYI ate Dal Khichdi some time back. I am sure as a leading media group you all are aware of basic Journalistic principles Please bother to verify such news. That's least one can expect,” she tweeted.
"False information about Hon'ble Mayor of Mumbai Kishori Pednekar's health is being spread on few news media as well as social media. Hon'ble Mayor Kishori Pednekar's health is stable and she is fine. Please do not believe in rumours and kindly avoid spreading too," the mayor further said.
At the peak of second wave in April, Maharashtra Congress MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar passed away while undergoing treatment for post-Covid complications at a hospital. Antapurkar was a two-time MLA from Deglurassembly constituency in Nanded district.
