Home Ministry Declares Lashkar-e-Taiba Member Mohammad Qasim Gujjar Designated Terrorist Under UAPA
Mohammad Qasim Gujjar has been involved in various terror attacks, bomb blasts and responsible for causing death and injuries to many people in terror incidents.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday declared Lashkar-e-Taiba member Mohammad Qasim Gujjar, presently residing in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Announcing the government's decision, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said LeT operative Gujjar has caused numerous deaths and injuries with terror attacks and is involved in planning a war against India.
"Anyone found involved in activities against the unity and integrity of the nation will be dealt with ruthlessly," Amit Shah posted on X.

32-year-old Gujjar, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, is believed to be currently residing in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
As per the statement, Gujjar alias Salman alias Suleman has been involved in carrying out a wide-range of terrorist activities, including coordinating, supplying, identifying locations for drones for dropping arms, ammunition, improvised explosive devices and cash, and delivering and managing consignments from across the border.
The home ministry said the UAPA has been enacted to provide for more effective prevention of certain unlawful activities of individuals and associations, for dealing with terrorist activities and for matters connected therewith.
Gujjar will be the 57th individual to be designated a terrorist under anti-terror law UAPA. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the LeT operative has caused numerous deaths and injuries with terror attacks and is involved in planning a war against India.
Earlier, this year, the MHA declared Gangster Goldy Brar, the mastermind behind the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, a designated terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on January 1.
