'We Will Sit And Discuss..': Yediyurappa On Dissatisfaction Among Karnataka BJP Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls

The former chief minister BS Yediyurappa announced plans to visit Davangere and Belagavi on March 27th and 28th respectively to address any pending issues in those regions.

In the midst of growing dissatisfaction among BJP members in different constituencies in Karnataka after the announcement of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls, veteran party leader B S Yediyurappa stated on Tuesday that efforts are underway to address all concerns and that there are no significant complications. The former chief minister mentioned plans to visit Davangere and Belagavi on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 27) to address any outstanding issues in those regions.

Yediyurappa, who serves as both a member of BJP's Parliamentary Board and Central Election Committee said, "We will convene meetings with our party workers and leaders in those areas and work towards resolving any issues. Overall, we believe there are no significant complications statewide." 

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Yediyurappa as per PTI said, "Our expectation is that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership we have to win all 28 seats, and we are honestly working for it. I'm confident that we will be successful in it."

On Monday, Yediyurappa met with GM Siddeshwar, outgoing Davangere MP, whose wife Gayatri is the BJP candidate from there.

Former party legislators M P Renukacharya and S A Ravindranath have openly voiced their opposition to her candidacy. In the Belgaum (Belagavi) Lok Sabha segment, resentment within the party has surfaced over former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar being awarded the ticket.

Several local party leaders are against his candidature as Shettar, hailing from Hubballi-Dharwad, received the ticket, sidelining potential contenders in Belagavi district.

Discontentment also simmers in several other constituencies, including Chikkaballapur, Koppal, Shimoga, Haveri, Tumkur, Bidar, Raichur, and Chitradurga.

On Monday, Yediyurappa and other senior BJP leaders held discussions with incumbent Koppal MP Karadi Sanganna, who had threatened to revolt after being denied the ticket to re-contest. The party subsequently allocated the Koppal ticket to Dr. Basavaraj Kyavator.
