Kia Sonet Unveiled! Here's How The Korean Carmaker Aims To Take On India's Sub-Compact SUV Segment

New Delhi: If you looking to buy a sub-compact SUV, then your wait just got over! The much-anticipated SUV from Kia Motors has been unveiled for the Indian market on Friday. The Korean carmaker made an entry into the B-segment of India with its latest Kia Sonet offering. With this latest entry, the battle in the compact SUV segment is expected to heat up with existing Huyndai Venue, Maruti SuzukiVitara Brezza, and the expected Nissan Magnite racing against each other.
Kia Sonet is a compact SUV and was first showcased as a concept at the 2020 Auto Expo early this year. Since then the car has garnered huge attention and become a much sought after event.
Recently, Kia had also released the teasers of the Sonet which shows that the car will follow an aggressive design language and will perhaps be one of the best-looking compact SUVs on sale in India. The made-in-India Kia Sonet will match the quality standards of global Kia models. The car will be priced between Rs 7 lakh and 12 lakh

- The car offers 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation and live traffic and air purifier.
- Sonet will get two petrol engine options – the refined Smartstream 1.2 and the performance-oriented 1.0-litre Turbo GDi. There will also be a diesel engine option.
- It promises Bose seven-speaker audio system with sub-woofer.
- It will be packed with ventilated driver and front-passenger seats and LED Sound Mood Lighting
- Remote engine start for automatic and manual transmission via UVO Connect and Smart Key
- Another interesting feature includes over-the-air (OTA) map updates
- Besides multi-drive & traction modes and grip control for automatic models, it will also have wireless smartphone charger with cooling function
- It comes with six airbags and ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution).
- Additional features include ESC (Electronic Stability Control), HAC (Hill-start Assist Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) and BA (brake assist)
- It will have front and rear parking sensors and projector fog lamps
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Auto headlamps
- Moreover, the car will have ISOFIX child-seat anchoring points
