Kerala: Thrissur Boy Found Dead, CCTV Footage Points To Murder By 20-Year-Old
A 20-year-old man was arrested for the alleged murder of six-year-old Abel in Thrissur.

A man was arrested in connection with the alleged murder of a six-year-old boy who was missing and was later found in a pond near Mala in the Thrissur district, Kerala. The accused is a 20-year-old Jojo, a resident of Kuzhooor, who was taken into custody on Thursday night.
The victim was found murdered for allegedly resisting a sexual assault attempt by Jojo, who happens to be the victim’s neighbour. The man's arrest was recorded on Friday, and he will be produced before the court, according to PTI.
The deceased has been identified as Abel, who was playing football with local children, as per The New Indian Express.
According to a Mathrubhumi report, in CCTV footage, Abel was seen running on the road with a young man. Once the police launched an enquiry into the identity of the person, he was identified as Jojo.
As per the report, Jojo has a criminal background.

Body Found After About 3 Hours
Abel’s body was found in a pond located in a paddy field near the deceased’s house. As per the report, the boy had been missing since around 6:20 pm on Saturday from a nearby road. After a search was conducted by the locals and police, the six-year-old’s body was found around 9:30 pm. When Abel was reported missing, Jojo also joined the search along with police and residents, as per The New Indian Express.
Initial police inquiry suggests the child was pushed into a pond and killed; investigation is ongoing. Jojo had previously been involved in a theft case.
Rural District Police Chief B Krishnakumar visited the spot and reviewed the investigation. Abel’s body will be moved to Government Medical College, Thrissur, for a postmortem from the mortuary of a private hospital at Kuzhikattussery, as per PTI.
