School Principal Killed In Bomb Attack In Jharkhand

A principal of a middle school was killed in a bomb attack by unidentified persons, in Jharkhand's Deoghar district on Thursday. Sanjay Kumar Das, principal of Mahuadabar Middle School was on his way for some work from school on a two-wheeler when unidentified persons hurled bombs at him.
According to an IANS report, Das, 52, was posted at a school in Mahuadabar village and had arrived at the premises around 8:30 am to register his biometric attendance. Approximately half an hour later, as he was leaving on his scooter when unidentified assailants attacked him. The explosion triggered panic among locals and students.
Eyewitnesses said that the assailants came on a motorcycle and fled immediately after the assault, as per the report.
According to PTI, the principal was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead. The family members of the deceased also arrived at the scene upon hearing the tragic news.
A police team rushed to the spot and began an investigation. The reason behind the attack and the number of perpetrators was not yet ascertained. However, initial investigations suggest a possible land dispute as a reason.
Upon receiving information, police personnel from Madhupur station rushed to the location and cordoned off the area. The police have launched a manhunt to trace the culprits. Preliminary inquiries indicate that the attackers had prior knowledge of Das’ routine and had been waiting for the right moment to strike. The police are also questioning other teachers and school staff to gather more information.
Das’ wife is a former Zila Parishad member. Officials are analysing his call records to determine if he was deliberately lured out of the school.
The attack has triggered outrage in the local community, with residents demanding swift justice for the principal.
