Nengroo is running a terror organisation in Kashmir and is currently "engaged in a perilous campaign to orchestrate terror in Jammu and Kashmir", remote-controlled from Pakistan, the ministry said.
Taking into account the peril that Nengroo poses to the security of India and in order to deter him from perpetrating terror acts, he has been assigned as a terrorist under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967), the ministry said.
Nengroo, a truck driver from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, was once a police informer and a pro-India Kashmiri, got caught in the greed for money and has become one of the biggest gangsters sending arms, narcotics and terrorists to India.
Nengroo infiltrated trained terrorists into India through Jammu and Kashmir. There are also some Fidayeen attackers among these terrorists.
In 2019, with the intrigue of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan, Nengroo organised an exciting arms-dropping case in which drones were used to carry deadly weapons into India from across the boundary.
When a witness for the Indian Army, Nengroo had helped security organisations by giving tip-offs about some of the dreaded terrorists who were killed in encounters. As a driver, hailing from the Kakapora region (Pulwama) found 12 km away from Srinagar, Nengroo had assembled a solid organisation among the separatist leaders and anti-Indian rogues.
Because of this Nengroo network had a profound understanding of the dread exercises based in and on Srinagar, uncovers the dossier arranged by Intelligence agencies on him. In any case, the lure of cash transformed Nengroo into a supporter of the separatists.
