'Install Some Cameras..': Congress Mocks PM Modi Over Tunnel Rescue, BJP Reacts — Pic Inside

The Congress has used a cartoon to mock Prime Minister Modi over the ongoing rescue ops to save 41 trapped workers in Uttarakhand. The BJP has hit back.

At a time when the entire nation is anxiously waiting for the rescue of the 41 workers trapped inside a collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand for 17 days now, the Congress has evoked a sharp reaction from the BJP over its social media post which mocked Prime Minister Modi in connection with the ongoing mission.

The Congress posted an image of the tunnel where the rescue mission is underway on a war footing with a cut out of the Prime Minister holding a green flag. The party posted this with the caption: 'Kuch Camere Wagerah Lagvaye, Toh Saheb Ke Darshan Ho Jayein [Install some cameras etc, So we can have a glimpse of Saheb]. The Congress has often accused the Prime Minister of hogging the spotlight during important events and this post seems to insinuate the same.

Reacting to the post, BJP national general secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam said, "It is unfortunate. At a time when Congress should have prayed for those 41 lives and gathered the necessary resources, they were unable to shoulder the responsibility of the Opposition. They can only look for mockery in every matter and hurl insults. The entire country is praying for those 41 lives. But they are busy in mockery. This is unfortunate."

Meanwhile, the rescue operations are in the final stages and medical facilities have been set up near the site to attend to the workers as soon as they are out. As per the latest update, the rescuers are just two to three metres away from the trapped workers and the operations can conclude by 5 pm. Prime Minister Modi has also dialled up Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dhami to take stock of the latest updates.

The workers will be brought to Community Health Center Chinyalisaur for medical treatment after they walk out of the tunnel.
