Wondering who handles Sushma Swaraj's Twitter account? Here's what she has to say

NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is known for her prompt replies on Twitter and for helping distressed Indians from across the world. She has over 12.4 million Twitter followers, making her one of the most-followed foreign ministers across the world. A Twitter user on Sunday raised a question and asked if it's Swaraj or any PR agency handles her account. "Certainly it’s not Sushma Swaraj who is doing these tweets. Some PR guy is doing his / her duty for what they being paid for !!," Samit Padhy, a software engineer, said. In her response, the EAM clarified it was her who sent out the tweets and "not her ghost". Swaraj said: "Rest assured - it's me, not my ghost." Last week, when a Twitter user asked the Minister why she calls herself a "Chowkidaar", Sushma Swaraj said in a tweet: "Because I am doing 'chowkidari' of Indian interests and Indian nationals abroad." A US daily, Washington Post, had in 2016 labelled Sushma as the ‘Supermom of State’. The daily had said that ever since taking up the job of India’s External Affairs Minister, Swaraj has "carved out an unlikely role for herself as a crusading Supermom of State."
