'Will Work As A Small Soldier Under PM Modi': Hardik Patel Ahead Of Joining BJP

Preparations for Hardik Patel joining the party are almost complete at BJP's headquarter in Gujarat.

New Delhi: Hardik Patel, the Gujarat Patidar leader, who recently quit Congress will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today. Preparations for his joining the party are almost complete at BJP's headquarter in Gujarat. Posters welcoming Patel were put outside the party office. In a small function to be held at around 11 am, Patel will be inducted in the BJP.

Early today, the Gujarat Patidar leader thanked PM Modi in a Tweet. Taking to his Twitter handle, Patel said, "With the feelings of national interest, state interest, public interest and social interest, I am going to start a new chapter from today. I will work as a small soldier in the noble work of service to the nation under the leadership of the successful Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi,"

He also spoke to ABP News reporter Asmita and said, "In the coming days Congress's Patidar leaders and MLAs will leave the party. Many leaders are looking to join BJP."

Patel joined the Congress party in 2019, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections and was appointed as the working president of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee in Gujarat in 2020. However, he quit the party in 2022 after he accused the Congress leadership of sidelining him.

After Patel resigned on May 19 this year, he said that the Congress party is least bothered about addressing problems facing the state, instead it is busy ensuring that the leaders who come from Delhi to Gujarat get "chicken sandwich" on time.
