'Why Is BJP So Arrogant?' Arvind Kejriwal Hits Out At Shivraj Singh Chouhan Over Letter To CM Atishi
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has accused the BJP government of neglecting farmers by not following through with the promises made on the demands of the agrarian community.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has hit back at Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan after he sent a letter to Delhi CM on the "plight of farmers" in Delhi. AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal pointed out that farmers in Punjab have been protesting and sitting on an indefinite hunger strike for several days with no response from the BJP. According to Kejriwal, their demands are the same as those agreed upon by the Central Government three years ago but have yet to be implemented.
In his letter to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, Chouhan accused the AAP government of being "indifferent" to farmers. He stated that the Delhi government under AAP lacks empathy for farmers and alleged that during AAP's decade-long rule in Delhi, former CM Arvind Kejriwal has consistently deceived farmers.
Kejriwal Slams BJP's 'Arrogance'
Responding to Chouhan's letter, Kejriwal took to social media platform X, slamming the BJP government for going back on its promises. He wrote, "Farmers in Punjab have been sitting on dharna and indefinite hunger strike for many days. Their demands are the same which the central government had accepted three years ago but has not implemented yet. The BJP government has now reneged on its promise. The BJP government is not even talking to the farmers. Talk to them. They are the farmers of our own country. Why is the BJP so arrogant that it does not even talk to anyone?"

Kejriwal reiterated that the protesting farmers in Punjab are demanding the implementation of agreements made three years ago, which the BJP government has yet to honour. He added, "If anything happens to the farmers sitting on indefinite hunger strike in Punjab, the BJP will be held responsible."
Punjab Cooperation and Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said, "The letter should have been written to the Chief Minister of UP that the condition of farmers is very bad. They should have written a letter. These people have been sitting on protests in Delhi, and they should address the issues of farmers..."

Concerns Over Reintroduction of Farm Laws
Kejriwal also alleged that the BJP government at the Centre was planning to bring back the three controversial laws that it had rolled out in 2019-20. "For the information of farmers across the country, let me tell you that the three black laws which were withdrawn by the Centre three years ago due to the farmers' agitation, the Central Government is preparing to implement them again through the back door by calling them "policies". The Centre has sent a copy of this policy to all the states to know their views," Kejriwal said in an X post.
The three now-scrapped farm laws sparked nationwide protests which spanned over a year.
