When Will Maharashtra Get Its Ministers? CM Devendra Fadnavis Reveals Date Of Cabinet Expansion
CM Devendra Fadnavis has revealed when the Mahayuti will be ready with its portfolio allocation in the Maharashtra government.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has seemingly put to rest speculation about when the tug-of-war over the ministries and Cabinet berth allocations will be over. In an exclusive interview with ABP News, Fadnavis said that all portfolios will be decided by December 16. "We are almost there. We have to ensure justice for all three parties... A few portfolios are left to be decided on... Most probably before the Nagpur convention of the BJP on December 16, we shall declare the Cabinet expansion."
Will BJP Keep Home Ministry?
Devendra Fadnavis dodged a question on who will get the Home Ministry among the three Mahayuti allies. He said: "There is no tug-of-war on the Home portfolio. Our discussions are on these ministries... There are a few ministries like Home, Finance, and Urban Development, which are considered 'defining' portfolios... There are three parties and all must get equal respect and portfolios would be allocated accordingly."

Mahayuti's 'Problem Of Plenty'
Devendra Fadnavis quipped that the ruling alliance was faced with the "problem of plenty". "We are happy with our problem of plenty. All three parties got big numbers. So naturally, every party wants the maximum portfolios for itself. When you run a party, you need to manage the leaders' aspirations as well. Hence, we are [taking some time in] discussing how to allocate ministerial berths. Just a few more portfolios are left to be decided on."
