After Pani Puri, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Makes Momos At Stall In Darjeeling | WATCH

Mamata Banerjee, who is on a visit to Darjeeling, was seen earlier this week trying her hand at making golgappas. A video showed Banerjee making the golgappas and serving it to children.

New Delhi: After making phuckhas (golgappas), West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee displayed her culinary skills again and was spotted making momos at a roadside shop in Darjeeling on Thursday. In the video shared by All India Trinamool Congress, Mamata Banerjee can be seen putting the stuffing and shaping a momo with full concentration at a tiny stall made of tin sheets.

Banerjee can also be seen interacting with women from self-help groups at the shop as she made the dumplings.

"Today I made momos during my morning walk, in Darjeeling. Elated to share such special moments with my people. Darjeeling will always have my heart and I salute the hard-working people of our Hills who make every visit so memorable," Banerjee posted on Facebook.

Banerjee, who is on a three-day visit to Darjeeling, was seen earlier this week trying her hand at making phuckhas (golgappas). A video, tweeted by TMC, showed Mamata Banerjee making the golgappas and serving it to children and bystanders who thronged the roadside stall.

In the video, several children are seen standing in queue with disposable bowls in their hand, waiting for their turn to enjoy the popular street food. Banerjee was in the hill station for three days to attend the swearing-in ceremony of newly-elected Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) members.

"Our chairperson Mamata Banerjee visited SHG operated food stall, Sunday Haat in Darjeeling. Showing her appreciation for the women's hard work, she joined them in the preparation of Bengal's favorite, puchkas and also fed enthusiastic children the delectable snack," TMC tweeted along with the video.

On an earlier occasion, too, the TMC supremo had prepared momos at a stall in Darjeeling in March, much to the surprise of the locals.

In 2019, just before returning to Kolkata from the seaside town of Digha, she had stopped at a tea stall, made fresh cuppas and served them to locals.
