Weather Update: Heavy Rain In Delhi, Mumbai; IMD Issues Forecast For These Places — Check Details

A fresh spell of rain lashed parts of Delhi-NCR on Saturday morning, bringing much-needed respite from heat and humidity.

Delhi Weather: The residents of the national capital woke up to a fresh spell of rain on Saturday morning bringng relief in the city from sweltering heat. This comes as the India Meterological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted generally cloduy sky accompanied with light rain in the city over the next few days.

Meanwhile, on Friday, the minimum temperature in the city settled at 29.6 degrees Celsius, with the weather department predicting moderate rain. Humidity at 8.30 am was 76 percent.

The weather department had predicted a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds for the day. The maximum temperature settled around 36 degrees Celsius.

Besides Delhi, rain also lashed parts of Maharashtra's capital city, Mumbai.

Earlier, the weather department had issued an orange alert for Mumbai, signalling heavy to very heavy downpour in isolated areas.

Similar alerts have also been issued for Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts in Maharashtra’s Konkan region. Incessant rains with intermittent spells of moderate to heavy showers since Friday morning have slowed down public transport services and traffic in Mumbai.

The IMD has also said that isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand today and will prevail over the next two days.

The residents in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur faced problems after the roads were damaged due to rain.
